Clear, connecting, and collaborative communication
Housing justice work involves complex communications with diverse stakeholders.
People working in homelessness, social housing, and housing justice need to be able to communicate and collaborate with people experiencing multiple marginalisations, multidisciplinary teams, and formal structures and systems.
Clear, Connecting, and Collaborative Communication supports learners to develop communication skills for clarity, connection, and collaboration. This course emphasises self-awareness, strategies for building trusting and respectful relationships, and the skills required for solutions focused communications.
This training session is suitable for frontline and leadership roles in homelessness and social housing, and for anyone who is interested in a developing communications skills that are effective across diverse settings.
At the end of this session, learners will be able to:
Understand the importance of communication that supports clarity, connection and collaboration
Understand reasons for diverse communication styles and preferences
Identify and reflect on own communication style and preferences
Develop communication strategies that support clarity, connection, and collaboration
This training session is 4.5 hours.
Delivery consists of a facilitator led training package via an online platform or face-to-face delivery.
This training session is interactive with an emphasis on activities that promote reflective practice and proactive implementation.
